Class of 2014 Graduation Requirements

You must have 24 credits to graduate

  • 4 Mathematics Credits to include Algebra 1 and Geometry (or equivalent) and higher
  • 4 Language Arts Credits
  • 3 Science Credits- 2 credits must be lab-based
  • 3 Social Studies Credits to include World History, American History, Economics/Government
  • 1 Fine Arts/Practical Arts Credit
  • 1.5 Physical Education Credits- .5 credit must be from Personal Fitness
  • 7.5 Elective Credits
  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Must pass FCAT Reading or earn a 19 on the Reading Section of the ACT or a 430 on the Verbal Section of the SAT

Standard Diploma- Merit Designation:

  • Meet the requirements for a standard diploma
  • Earn 26 credits
  • Earn at least 1 approved industry certification

Standard Diploma- Scholar Designation:

  • Meet the requirements for a standard diploma
  • Earn 26 Credits
  • Fulfill the following requirements:
  1. Pass the FCAT 2.0
  2. Earn 1 credit in Algebra 2
  3. Earn 1 credit in Pre-Calculus or Dual Enrollment Math Course
  4. Pass  Biology and US History EOCs (not Algebra or Geometry).  If students did not take the EOC in one of the classes and still earned credit, they must take and pass the EOCs in December or May of this school year.
  5. Earn 1 credit in Physics or Chemistry
  6. Earn 1 credit in an equally rigorous science (see counselor for the approved courses)
  7. Earn 2 credits consecutively in the same foreign language
  8. Earn 1 credit in Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, Dual Enrollment, or an approved industry certification

**  If students are eligible for free or reduced lunch, they are also eligible for fee waiver to take the ACT and SAT.  Eligible students can have 2 fee waivers for the ACT and 2 fee waivers for the SAT.  Please come to guidance to obtain the waivers.

Senior Trip to Orlando:  Friday, March 14th- Monday, March 17th

Senior Field Day:  Friday, May 9th at PFHS from 11am-3pm

Senior Breakfast:  Friday, May 23rd at Golden Corral at 8:00am

Honors Night:  Thursday, May 29th at PFHS Gym at 6:00pm

Graduation Practice:  Friday, May 30th at PFHS Gym at 1:00pm- You must be in attendance to participate in the graduation ceremony.

Graduation:  Monday, June 2nd at Pensacola Bay Center at 6:00pm
