I am a leader and I will do what a leader does. As a leader I am dedicated to my job which is my classroom. In my classroom I sit at my office. I am called a scholar by name. My teacher is my professor. I am a leader because I am responsible, respectful and resilient. I have started with an end in mind, am dedicated and diligent regarding my job which is my academic studies. I am an example for others as well. I am a leader because I am being equipped with a voice and choice. My classroom belongs to me. As a leader, I am unique in reference to my learning style and interests. My classroom has flexible learning spaces that have been created by my teacher just for me. Most importantly, I feel special and safe . I am encouraged and given the opportunity to learn on a daily basis. I am a leader because leaders see the best in others and encourage them to be the best that they can be..

I look forward to a great year. COVID-19 has changed our lives. In spite of this we will be okay. I see the best in all of my scholars and will provide the essential skills that are needed in order to succeed. I believe that all scholars are capable of learning regardless of the situation that we are facing. I will continue to create innovation ways to motivate and engage my scholars. As we approach the 2021 fiscal school year I will provide the necessary tools whether it is remote or traditional learning. I will implement personalized learning where my scholars will have a voice and choice in the learning process. My instruction is student centered. I will take a personalized approach regarding each students’ learning style, abilities and interests. I believe in Vision that Mrs. Ray has established for Pine Forest High School and the mission as well. I also believe in the vision and mission statement for Escambia County School District. Benjamin Franklin once wrote, “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn. I concur with Mr. Franklin. My most significant objective for this school year is to involve my scholars in the lessons that I teach(remote/traditional). I am so thankful that I am a teacher. I chose this profession because I have a passion for teaching and I enjoy every minute that I get the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the scholars who I teach. My educational background includes but is not limited to the following: B.A. in English, M.Ed., in Reading Specialist and D. Min., Counseling and Leadership.
