PERT:
The Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (P.E.R.T.) is Florida's customized common placement test. The purpose of the P.E.R.T. is accurate course placement based on the student's skills and abilities. The P.E.R.T. is aligned with the Postsecondary Readiness Competencies identified by Florida faculty as necessary for success in entry-level college credit coursework. The P.E.R.T. assessment system includes Placement and Diagnostic tests in mathematics, reading and writing. (Study Guide)
PSAT/NMSQT:
Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test - This test is for college-bound juniors; and sophomores may take for practice. The test consists of mathematics and English. Academically talented students compete for National Merit Scholarship Semi-finalist standing.
ASVAB Career Exploration Program:
The ASVAB test includes eight individual tests covering verbal and math skills, mechanical knowledge, electronics, and several other areas. It also produces three Career Exploration Scores for Verbal Skills, Math Skills, and Science and Technical Skills. These three scores serve as one of several pieces of information about your child that can aid in the exploration of a wide variety of career options.
